Needville CHOIR PERFORMANCE DECEMBER 13

The Houston Tidelanders Chorus is pleased about this announcement. We will once again join the Needville Choir Performance to sing and perform with the Needville ISD High School choirs.

The Houston Tidelanders return to Needville and are excited to be back on stage on December 13, 2021. We will participate in Needville ISD’s “A Holiday Reunion”. The Needville Choirs are directed by Choir Director, Dr. Rodney Bell.

“After nearly two years since our last performance here, we look forward to performing with these talented youth,” said Bob Reckers, Chairman of Outreach for the Houston Tidelanders. Reckers continued to say, “Youth outreach and education is a primary objective of our mission”.

We have had the privilege of performing in the Needville Choir Performance in previous years. Above all, the Tidelanders enjoy singing with the High School choristers. The annual show is sponsored by Dr. Rodney Bell.

First performances include the Needville High School Junior Varsity, Varsity Treble, and Varsity Mixed choirs. Next is a brief intermission. Afterwards, the Tidelanders take the stage. At the end of the Tidelanders performance, Dr. Bell said, “We will close out with our varsity choirs and the Tidelanders singing together, which is always a lot of fun”.

In conclusion, all proceeds from the Needville Choir Performance help with the annual choir field trip. Proceeds are also used for the purchase of equipment for performances. Tickets sales help fund the Tidelanders’ expenses for their appearance.

Who Sang the Song Smile

“Smile” continues to be considered timeless. Meaning the message always seems to be relevant. As long as it continues to be popular, artists will continue to cover and interpret it’s meaning in order to continue to have it resonate with audiences. Modern artists like Michael Jackson have arranged and performed it.
