The Armed Forces Medley is a song performed by the Houston Tidelanders to pay tribute to men and women of the United States Armed Forces and Merchant Marine.
During the performance, the Tidelanders ask any present or former service members to stand so they can be acknowledged. Tidelanders that have served in the branch being sung will leave the risers and walk forward during the song or raise an arm.
These patriotic American song is a medley of 5 of the 6 branches of the US armed force’s songs. Each of these songs represents the spirit and unique capabilities of each branch.
Merchant Marine training and licensing operations fall under the jurisdiction of the United States Coast Guard. The US Therefore, we recognize the service of the Merchant Marine during the performance of the USCG Hymn.

The United States Marines are considered an amphibious attack force. Service members provide a strike force to protect U.S. interests domestically and abroad. They also server on U.S. Navy ships, protect American naval bases, and guard U.S. embassies.
