The contest was pretty fun! I think the most important thing was to just have fun and bond with the quartet rather than focusing on just the sound of our singing.

I was preparing my students to sing in small ensembles for competition and this event allowed my advanced singers to delve into the art of Barbershop while also improving their own independent part singing.

Participating in the Barbershop Contest was a unique experience for me. I'm glad that I was able to step out of my comfort zone for once and do something that I would've never imagined myself doing. I'm very glad that I participated in this contest since I enjoyed it a lot and it allowed me to get closer to the others in the quartet.
Daniela
I really enjoyed practicing with everyone and getting to work together to show off our skills. Although it was difficult working out everything, I feel like it made me a better singer in the end.
Britney
All in all, the Barbershop Contest was an insightful musical experience which expanded my horizons. Even though I have participated in several choral events, there were barely any which allowed me to sing in an ensemble. This contest allowed me to grow closer to my friends while improving my own vocals.
